Starting lineup, heavy minutes, Deng and Gordon (supposedly)...it'll almost feel real. Lets hope Tyrus doesn't pass the ball right into Skiles' nuts. Besides that I can't see how he would relinquish the starting job based on a preseason game, but who knows what to think anymore.

File this under "for what it’s worth.’’ ESPN just e-mailed me predictions by 10 staffers (Ric Bucher, Marc Stein, Greg Anthony, etc.). All 10 had the Bobcats missing the playoffs. The consensus was the Bobcats would finish 12th among 15...

We're baaaaaaccckkk. Oh we're back baby! The W Column over at FSN Bay Area is in full effect and back again like Baby Bash and Akon for a second season. The new NBA season and GSoM Night II are just days away and I couldn't be any more hyped. But before we move forward to…

The Hornets dropped to 3-4 in the preseason with yesterday's 107-98 loss to the Hawks. Highlights included Hilton Armstrong's 25-point, 14-rebound performance, a nice contribution off the bench from Melvin Ely, and Peja Stojakovic playing 25 minutes without wincing. On the down side, we had…

On February 28, after losing 113-83 to the Chicago Bulls, Don Nelson said "it doesn't look it's going to work out this year." On May 3, the Golden State Warriors beat the Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 to seal the biggest upset in NBA playoff history. "We Believe" went from a lone homemade…

You know how everyone always used to talk about Detroit’s knack for avoiding injuries the past few years? Ah, the good old days … Lately, it seems no one can stay healthy. Amir Johnson missed all but 15 minutes of the preseason with a sprained ankle, Nazr Mohammed missed five games…

Seattle lost its fifth straight preseason game, and again could not hold onto a lead late in falling to Portland. Seattle native Brandon Roy led the Trail Blazers with 14 of his 22 points in the last six minutes. Roy, who has been nursing a bruised left heel, wasn't even supposed to play in the…

Okay, yes, I know, I know, Isiah Thomas would never in a gazillion years trade Eddy Curry, as too much of Isiah’s identity in New York is wrapped around acquiring Eddy Curry. The Suns could call and say, “We want to become a post-up team, we’ll give you Shawn Marion for…

(with apologies to Ron Huberman) I was going to take more shots at Skiles for potentially starting Aaron Gray tomorrow (and thus indicating he'd be in the starting lineup). On the one hand it's been two days of it already, but I'll say that TYI's post on the subject is not completely…

Folks, I’ve just agreed to join a private fantasy league on short notice that was short a guy. The draft is Friday night and I don’t have much time to assemble a sleeper list. So I’m looking for your help. I’m looking for * Players that are going to see a big jump in minutes…

A much better effort in the second quarter, as Seattle outscored Portland 36-25 to regain the lead. Seattle shot 55.6 percent from the floor and 8-for-9 from the free throw line, while Portland shot 48.8 percent from the field, and 12-of-16 from the free throw line. We had a Mickael Gelabale…

Seattle was down by as many as 13 points in the opening quarter but managed to cut the deficit to seven by the end of the quarter. Defensively, Seattle still is giving up a lot of easy buckets inside. LaMarcus Aldridge did most of the damage for Portland, finishing with 13 points in the quarter.…
